SCORE 2.7 Release Notes

Event Taxonomies and Search Engine Optimization

We are excited to announce the release of the SCORE 2.7 update on September 19. This update focuses on improving the website’s event organization, speed and overall user experience. We don’t expect any interruptions or downtime during this update.

Some of the highlights of this update include:

• Enhanced Event Categories
  Event categories on Drupal, such as business stage, industry and entrepreneur type, will now align with those in Engage, making it easier for visitors to find relevant events. The taxonomy values will sync directly from Engage to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Faster Website Performance
  Optimizing how files and images load on desktop and mobile devices has improved site speed. This will provide a smoother user experience and improve search rankings.
• Google Translate Upgrade
  The current Google Translate tool is being replaced with a more user-friendly and integrated solution.

Future Website Changes

These changes will be released to the website on the dates listed below. All dates are subject to change based on staff and volunteer testing. 

• August: Sprint 4 (various website improvements from the backlog/enhancement sheet)
• September: Sprint 5 (various website improvements from the backlog/enhancement sheet)
• September/October: Improved Location Experience (changing the way clients select a chapter in the secondary menu)
