Purpose:
To ensure SCORE’s future success by selecting new members who embody our mission, vision, values, and SLATE behaviors, starting with a strong, mission-aligned interview process that helps build chapter culture and meet client needs.
Summary of the Role:
As part of One SCORE, the Interviewer is the first fellow volunteer contact a prospective member has with SCORE. You play a vital role in assessing whether a candidate will contribute positively to your chapter’s culture and client service.
Through an effective interview, you also help applicants determine whether SCORE is the right fit for their skills, interests, and commitment to service.
The Interviewer Will:
- Provide first Chapter contact with Prospective volunteers
- Share what it means to be a SCORE volunteer
- Ensure alignment with SCORE’s mission, vision and values
- Accept or reject applicant in Engage
Required Orientation:
Before serving as an Interviewer, you must complete a brief orientation (approximately 10 minutes). This course ensures that all volunteers begin with a shared understanding of core expectations and best practices.
Course Goals:
- Promote a shared understanding of updated Interviewer role expectations
- Ensure consistent knowledge and guidance across chapters
- Support a unified, high-quality Provisional volunteer experience
We encourage chapters to continue building on this foundation with local mentoring, additional context, and best practices that reflect their unique strengths.
