Welcome emails are an important part of any email marketing strategy. On average, they receive over a 50% open rate. If you are not crafting a personal welcome email with call-to-actions, you are missing out on an excellent opportunity to introduce your chapter to your subscribers.
What to Include
In a few, short (2-3 sentence) paragraphs, you can thank the reader for subscribing, tell them a bit about your chapter, and what services you provide. Include links to finding a mentor, your workshop calendar, local resources, etc. You can also consider adding testimonials from clients or highlighting a success story from your website.
Format
You can choose to draft it like a personal letter and use the chapter chair or other chapter leader in the closing. His/her name should also be in the FROM line, as this can improve the open rate. The subject line can be simple, such as Welcome to SCORE [CHAPTER NAME].
For Example:
- SCORE Washington DC drafted this Welcome Email: Welcome to SCORE DC!
- And SCORE Jacksonville created this Welcome Email written from their Chapter Chair: Welcome to SCORE Jacksonville.
