Automation is a great way to improve email marketing results, and save time.
For example, in Constant Contact you can send out welcome emails to any new contact added to a specific list(s). However, automation can be used for many purposes, and you can apply these instructions to set up other types of automated email campaigns.
This article will focus on how to send an automated welcome email that uses a SCORE email template.
How to Set Up an Automated Welcome Email:
- On the Campaigns page of Constant Contact, click the Create a campaign button at the top right.
- Choose” Automations” in the popup.
- Select “Build my own” and click Continue.
- Choose “Subscribes to a list” and then click Create path.
- Select “One or more specific lists” and choose any applicable lists before clicking Done. You can also add filters such as Created by dates or specific tags.
- Click “Save” to advance to the next step.
- Move “Send an email” into the spot under the trigger.
- Click the three dots and choose “Edit” to build your email.
- Name the email and then choose either “Create a new email” to build a new one with a SCORE template or “Copy an existing email” to select an email you’ve built previously.
- Edit the email as necessary by adding a new subject line, changing out any content, and making all needed updates.
- Choose “Save & Close” when finished editing.
- Add additional steps to the automation, as needed. If you are adding more emails, please add in time delays so the subscribers aren’t overwhelmed with emails.
- Once you have completed all the necessary actions of the automation, name it and click Activate at the top right.
