This guide walks you through essential actions in Engage, including how to view onboarding requirements, assign a coach, add the Workshop Presenter role, and confirm completion of training milestones. Use this guide to ensure every provisional is set up for success from day one.
Viewing Onboarding Requirements
From the Engage homepage, select Applications by Status
Scroll down to the bottom and view the Volunteer Onboarding Requirements section and review required and not completed fields.
Assigning A Coach
Recommended Timing: Assign the coach after the provisional has completed their online training modules numbered 001-009.
Steps
- From the Engage homepage, select Applications by Status.
- Click View next to the appropriate application.
- On the application page, click Assign Coach.

In the assignment window, search and select a coach.
➤ TIP: If you already know the coach’s name, set Search In to All Chapters, then use the Search by Name field.
➤ TIP: Use the Pause Mentoring and Total Coach Assignment columns to help choose the most appropriate coach.
- Click Next to save the assignment.
- A confirmation window will appear. You’ll return to the application screen once the coach is successfully assigned.
Required Step After Assignment
Don’t forget to send a manual email to the Coach, selected Co-Mentors, and Chapter Chairs notifying them that the coach has been assigned and co-mentors selected.
They should engage with the provisional by adding them as a Co-Mentor in at least one of their upcoming sessions.

Adding a Workshop Presenter Add-on
When a provisional volunteer expresses interest in becoming a Workshop Presenter, they must first review and sign the Workshop Presenter Guide. Once confirmed, follow the steps below to update their application in Engage.
Steps to Update the Application
- From the Engage homepage, select Applications by Status.
- Click View next to the appropriate application.
- On the application page, click the drop-down arrow at the top and select Update Application.
- Check the box for Workshop Presenter Add-on. And mark the Workshop Presenter Guidelines field as Complete.

Click Next to save the changes.
Completing Specific Training Requirements
Update these specific fields as soon as the Coach and Provisional confirm they have completed these training requirements.
Steps to Update the Application
- From the Engage homepage, select Applications by Status.
- Click View next to the appropriate application.
- On the application page, click the drop-down arrow at the top and select Update Application.
- In the update window, locate the training requirements you need to mark. Then, click the corresponding dropdown and select Complete.
- Click Next to save the changes.
What Happens Next
The selected requirements will now appear as “Complete” under the Volunteer Onboarding Requirements section of the application record. If these are the final outstanding items, the application will automatically move to Active status.
