The SCORE Northern Arizona Chapter participated in three arts and craft shows this fall, located on the historic Yavapai County Courthouse Plaza, Territorial Days, Faire on the Square and Fall Fest.
The events were held on Saturday 9am-5pm and Sunday 9am-3pm where thousands of people from all over attend, many make the two hour trip up from Phoenix just to enjoy the day in Prescott Historic Downtown and Whisky Row. Our amazing volunteers took 4 hour shifts to man our booth that proudly displayed the SCORE logo on the canopy. The chapter displayed SCORE literature, and had a sign up sheet for people interested in being mentored or volunteering to be a mentor. Local volunteers would interact with the crowd asking if they have heard of SCORE, if they owned a business, or knew of someone who did own a business. The volunteers would hand out their business cards, give out information and have them sign up on the interest sheet. There were 3-4 volunteers per 4 hour shift.
The chapter promoted the events on our weekly newsletter, email blast to all lists in Contact Contact, posted on Facebook and LinkedIn, then shared to local business groups on social media and promoted on the main page of the Northern Arizona website.
"It was fun to promote SCORE and have time to build relationships with the community. The end result was over 75 people signed in with 10+ becoming our clients and we gained 3 new mentors. After the show I divided up all potential clients from the sign up sheet for the leadership team to make follow up personal phone calls to see if they had any questions or to walk them through the mentor request on our northernarizona.score.org website."
