As a federal grant recipient, SCORE is required to comply with Executive Order 14042 issued 09/09/21 and the subsequent Safer Federal Workforce Task Force Guidance for Federal Contractors and Subcontractors, which is broken down into two main parts – 1) a mask protocol and 2) a vaccine requirement - for employees and contractors only, not volunteers.
1. Mask Protocol
SCORE now has a mask policy to comply with this Executive Order. The full policy is attached (here). Please take the time to review. The policy outlines the masking and distancing protocols for all SCORE offices and events. It includes:
- In areas of high or substantial community transmission, fully vaccinated people MUST wear a mask in indoor settings, except for limited exceptions discussed in this policy.
- In areas of low or moderate community transmission, fully vaccinated people do not need to wear a mask.
- Individuals who are not fully vaccinated must wear a mask indoors and in certain outdoor settings (see policy) regardless of the level of community transmission in the area.
2. Vaccine Requirement – THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO VOLUNTEERS, ONLY PAID EMPLOYEES AND CONTRACTORS, WHICH INCLUDE PANTHER ADMINS.
In order to comply, all SCORE part-time and full-time employee and contractor staff must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by 12/08/2021. This federal requirement applies to the administrative contractors that SCORE has hired through its contract such as The Panther Group. The vaccine requirements do NOT apply to our SCORE volunteers.
SCORE is in close communication with The Panther Group managers to make sure that all SCORE administrative staff is compliant with the vaccine requirement. The Panther Group will be reaching out to those administrative staff within the next several days. In the event that any individuals are unwilling or unable to comply, SCORE will work with The Panther Group, and the local chapter to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
