SCORE Lowcountry mentor, Karen Casey, connected two of her clients. They then brought their strengths together to help each other!

Kathryn Mademan is the creator, on-air talent/host and producer of "Coastal with Kathryn - Wherever the Ocean Meets the Shore." Because of her thirst for travel and passion for storytelling, she wanted to launch a travel show that features the unique, enriched communities along coastal waters.  Kathryn has had a dynamic career spanning over 30 years in fashion, media and communications. She has worked as a fashion model, commercial spokesperson, and founded and owned a publishing company for 13 years. There she launched two magazines, authored three children’s books, and hosted four television shows. She is talking with a number of TV stations to syndicate her show and seeking both advertisers and sponsors for social media and television distribution. 

Luana Graves Sellars is a community activist and founder of the Lowcountry Gullah Foundation who spends her time advocating for issues that involve the Gullah, as well as coordinating communication between the Leadership and the Gullah community. To date, she has written more than 80 articles on the island’s Gullah families and culture, and shares her Gullah knowledge and passion for the culture teaching classes for Osher Life Long Learning, as well as other speaking requests. Her foundation raises funds for Gullah Heirs Property so that multi-generational families can keep their land.
