Fiserv is a financial services company and one of its brands is Clover. They make payment processing hardware and software for small businesses (and bigger businesses). They recently became a major sponsor for SCORE East Bay, with a donation for $10,000! Many thanks to Michael Hawes who has facilitated the partnership and provided more details on the benefits below:
As part of the sponsorship, Fiserv requested that some of the donation go towards recruiting minority mentors and reaching out to minority small businesses. SCORE East Bay allocated resources towards social media advertising and included funds used on LinkedIn, targeting these demographics. They also allocated funds to provide a number of complimentary passes to local workshops for new SCORE clients.
Another part of the joint program is that Fiserv and Clover publicize to their clients that they can get free business mentoring from SCORE. This is being publicized through the sponsor's email list and website on the client's account page (i.e. not visible to people who aren't Fiserv clients). This could result in small business people anywhere in the US contacting SCORE for mentoring. Michael Hawes let Fiserv know this is OK; SCORE wants to help small businesses and as One SCORE has the capacity to do this across the country.
If you or your chapter has any questions about the partnership, feel free to contact SCORE Easy Bay directly. If you've received referrals from Fiserv or Clover, please let volunteer.services@score.org know so that we can pass along the information to SCORE East Bay for tracking impact.
