Co-Mentoring from Florida to Ohio

"Pat Loftus is one of my colleagues in SCORE here is the SW FL Chapter. She has long been a proponent of co-mentoring, so I approached her for some best practices. (I'm copying Pat because SHE is the queen on co-mentoring, and has many more stories and accounts than I!)

Long story short, both my client and I went looking in the SCORE database of Volunteers for someone who had deep experience in coaching Executive Directors of nonprofits. Jim [Maltry, SCORE Greater Cincinnati] totally fit the bill and responded promptly to my email inquiry. We had an initial call to tell him about this Client, then set up an extended call with the Client. Jim provided simply wonderful expert guidance of how to get started, and even templates he's long used about everything from volunteer and Board applications to business plans for NPOs.

My client has jumped right in with her homework we left her with. We are set to reconnect with Jim in about a month.

Personally, I've been so IMPRESSED by Jim's willingness to help, and his manner in helping our Client. SO I'm getting a MasterClass in SCORE mentoring, too!
