We are proud to feature Jay Gladney (SCORE Greater Phoenix) for October's Volunteer Spotlight!
Before joining SCORE, Jay had a long and illustrious career in the U.S. Intelligence Community. During his 23 years in the Air Force, Jay served as a linguist, intelligence analyst, and ultimately an Operations Intelligence Officer. Retiring from the Air Force, Jay then spent the next 24 years working with various defense contractors in support of the Intelligence Community, while also co-owning a telecommunications consulting company.
Bringing along this experience, Jay joined SCORE Phoenix in 2013, and since then, he has held a variety of positions, including:
- Chair of Operations Committee for Phoenix (2014-2015)
- Vice Chair and Chapter Chair (2015-2018)
- Member of SCORE Phoenix Executive Committee (current)
In his current position, Jay serves in a variety of roles. Since 2018, he has led the fundraising efforts for the Phoenix chapter, and acts as the Chapter "Spokesperson" when dealing with media contacts. He has also stepped up and become the primary support for the chapter when dealing with video teleconference issues or questions. Beyond just serving his local chapter, Jay is also a member of the SCORE HQ Advisory Council, a council of volunteers across roles and regions of SCORE who provide strategic guidance and advise on new initiatives for the betterment of the organization from a volunteer perspective.
Jay has proven to be a reliable and effective leader, both in thought and action, and his contributions to the Phoenix Chapter and SCORE overall are invaluable.
