SCORE and the US Black Chamber of Commerce (USBC) have joined forces to create a new outlet to find a mentor. Featured on the US Black Chamber of Commerce's website is a feature for clients to connect with a SCORE mentor to get their questions answered. Some of the exclusive benefits of this program for USBC members include technical assistance, innovative loan programs, comprehensive business services, certification programs, supplier diversity initiatives, and educational resources. The President and CEO of USBC said of the exciting partnership, "This collaboration with SCORE is a pivotal step in our ongoing commitment to providing Black business owners with essential tools for success. Access to capital and technical assistance are crucial for growth, and through this partnership, we are unlocking new opportunities and resources that can propel our entrepreneurs to new heights". When clients use this feature, they will be connected to a repository of 150 Black SCORE mentors. The venue has already received 50 requests. This initiative has been supported by many SCORE mentors, but a special shout out to mentors Carilyn Riley, Justyn Pippins, Cynthia Rhodes, Jay Gladney, and Kat Shepherd.
SCORE mentors who self-identify as "Black or African American" in the demographic section of their Engage profile are automatically added to the repository. SCORE mentors who have not self-identified and wish to be added to the list or those who have and wish to be removed from the list should contact Mat Tse at mat.tse@score.org. All SCORE mentors are welcome to participate.
