SCORE Pinellas County hosted a Women's Small Business Symposium in March. The sold-out event brought together 250 Women entrepreneurs to learn, share stories, and connect with local resources. Some of the topics covered included the state of business and forecast for women-owned businesses in Pinellas County and Florida, finding access to capital, finding employees, creating a board of advisors, and negotiating. Several local publications wrote articles about the event including St. Pete Catalyst and Newsbreak. Chapter Chair Walter McCracken said this of the event, "There are several chapters within southeastern Florida district that do some sort of special function for women in small business, so we thought that would be a good thing to do in Pinellas County in conjunction with a lot of of other organizations that small businesses, like the Pinellas County Economic Development Council".
