SCORE Baton Rouge Area Introduces New Recognition Program

SCORE Baton Rouge Area has recently implemented a new recognition program. It includes an award for "Chairman's Choice" for a mentor who contributed the most that quarter. A second award for "Mentor of the Quarter" requires nominations from volunteers; they must select the mentor they feel most deserves recognition that quarter. Both of these awards come with a certificate of appreciation and a chance to choose an item from the SCORE Store. There is also an award for SCORE Clients! The "Client of the Quarter" receives a certificate and is invited to the annual Chapter Recognition Event. To bring new volunteers into the fold, SCORE Baton Rouge Area gives newly active mentors a personal card of congratulations from chapter leadership, a SLATE card, and a sticker. The program has received rave reviews. Here is what new mentor, Carla Louis, shared on LinkedIn: "Today, I had the distinct pleasure of receiving a handwritten thank you card from the District Director of SCORE Louisiana, Bob Shaver, marking a heartfelt welcome into the Baton Rouge chapter of SCORE. This gesture, both personal and profoundly meaningful, symbolizes the beginning of what I anticipate to be an enriching journey ahead". 

Q1 Award Winners

Chairman's Appreciation: Roy Herbert! Roy has a full-time job. He's on two National task forces and is a coach for one Provisional volunteer. He works hard to help find co-mentoring opportunities for Provisional volunteers. Roy accepted and counseled an amazing 53 clients in Q1 with 66 mentoring sessions! Is it any wonder I appreciate him so much? Thank you, and congratulations, Roy! 

Mentor of the Quarter: Bob Breaux! Bob has two critical jobs for the Baton Rouge Area Chapter; mentoring and developing educational workshops for SCORE clients. In Q1, Bob had 15 clients, did 31 mentoring sessions, and put on six workshops for 82 clients. Clients appreciated his workshops and showed it with eight "10s", a "9", and an "8" in their feedback. Bob is also good about helping out with our storage locker, responding to local speaking opportunities, and is even willing to take a call from Mark Madrid, the Associate Administrator at SBA. With 29 years of SCORE experience, Bob still demonstrates his commitment to our mission every day. Thank you and congratulations, Bob!  

Wait! Wait! There is a "tie" and there are TWO winners for Mentor of the Quarter! 

Mentor of the Quarter: Tami Richard! Maybe we should call Tami the "Rookie of the Year", so far? Tami joined in late June 2023 and promptly set the standing record to go "Active" in only 26 days! She has a job, an MBA, and got a perfect "10" NPS. She is always willing to take a client assignment. Thank you and congratulations, Tami! 

Client of the Quarter: Efremzimbalist Randle at UCCLeaningLLC! Tami Richard had this to say of Mr. Randle, "I met with him several weeks in a row and he was eager to implement new policies/procedures based on my suggestions in order to help his company culture thrive as his business sought opportunities for service expansion".
