Tim Dobyns, Vice Chair SCORE Southwest Missouri
Tim Dobyns is a seasoned business professional who has dedicated his 40-year career to helping organizations of all kinds thrive. As the founder and managing partner of Moventra LLC, Tim is enthusiastic about teaching, encouraging, and supporting private, civic and social sector organizations in business development, operational excellence, strategy, insights and healthy team culture.
Tim's experience as Executive Director of Siemens Energy's Environmental Solutions Division provided him with a wealth of knowledge and tools that he uses to help both domestic and international organizations develop, operate, scale, merge, acquire and divest.
He has participated in numerous leadership programs, including the Siemens Executive Leadership Framework Program, the Siemens Advanced Management Academy, and served as a Colfax Corporation integration and implementation lead for the Colfax Business System (CBS). These experiences have given him a broad set of leadership and operational tools that he now shares with private, civic and social sector groups.
Tim's technical background includes expertise in a wide range of business disciplines, including domestic and international business finance, operations, change management, lean project management, procurement, logistics, quality, marketing, business development, compliance, human resource, lean production, and operational excellence programming and education. He is a certified Great Game for Social Sector coach, United Way, and SCORE volunteer, and is passionate about building bridges between social sector originations and public/private sector companies.
Tim believes that corporate citizenship is good for business, employees, and the community. He has seen first-hand the positive impact that employee volunteering and community engagement can have on employee engagement and productivity. Employees who are more engaged in their community are more engaged in their work and lead healthier, happier more balanced lives.
Cheryl S. Ancell, a seasoned professional with a rich background in the hospitality industry, serves as the Chapter Chair for the Santa Fe & Northern NM Chapter of SCORE. Having just celebrated 4 years with SCORE, Cheryl actively contributes as a mentor, spearheads the Business Education Committee, and plays a pivotal role in community outreach initiatives.Cheryl's journey with SCORE is driven by her passion for sharing business expertise and staying abreast of current industry trends. Since retiring from a 38-year career in the hospitality sector, Cheryl sought a fulfilling community engagement where she could give back. She ultimately found that opportunity with SCORE in Santa Fe.What makes the Santa Fe Chapter unique is its team-based mentoring methodology. Mentoring in teams of three provides clients with the benefit of diverse perspectives, drawing on the expertise of individuals with different backgrounds. Cheryl sees the benefits of this approach, particularly in alignment with the One SCORE initiative. Embracing collaboration with volunteers from other chapters, Cheryl actively supports clients with a keen interest in the hospitality industry, thereby staying current and engaged in a field for which she has a lasting passion.In addition to the innovative mentoring approach, the chapter is proud of the visibility of their annual Women in Business Conference, the bilingual Southside Series Workshops aimed at Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs and the similar Espanola Workshop Series scheduled for April, 2024. These events are a testament to Cheryl's community outreach programs and the community relationships she's forged for the chapter. A high priority for Cheryl is to advance the chapter's mission and impact in the small business community.Cheryl's dedication to SCORE, coupled with her experience, showcases a commitment to fostering business success and community empowerment in Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico.
