What is Vacation Mode in CORE?
This happens when you receive a mentoring request, but the system does not see a response within 48 hours. There may be a few different reasons for this:
- You may be out of town or otherwise unable to view your emails
- You did not realize your profile was searchable
- You may have replied to the client directly from your personal email
Please follow the steps below:
- First, to get to your profile from the Volunteer Center homepage, click on My Profile. (You can also click on View My Profile from the CORE homepage under the “Volunteers” header.)
- Then click the Edit Profile button.
- Scroll down to the section called “Vocabularies”, under the Email Mentoring Availability section.
To Turn Vacation Mode OFF
If your screen looks like this Vacation Mode is ON and you are not searchable. You will NOT receive email mentor requests if Email is not highlighted.
Then your screen will look like this:
Vacation Mode is now OFF and your profile is searchable by clients. Don’t forget to scroll down to the bottom and click “Save”!
To Turn Vacation Mode ON
If your screen looks like this Vacation Mode is OFF and you are searchable by clients. To turn ON Vacation Mode, you must de-select Email as a Mentoring Method.
Then your screen will look like this:
Vacation Mode is now ON and your profile is not searchable by clients. You will not receive email mentoring requests. Don’t forget to scroll down to the bottom and click “Save”!
