Refer A Client to Another Mentor
Prerequisite: As the lead mentor, you've already accepted this request and will be referring it to another mentor you've contacted.
1) Navigate to the client mentoring request details page from the Home Page by selecting My Client Requests.
2) Click View on any record to review the request details.
3) Once on the client mentoring request details click the down arrow
and select Refer Mentor.
4) Select the mentor you would like to refer and click Next.
5) Enter the reason you are referring this client to the new mentor and click Next. The referred mentor will receive an email notification about this referral and the reason you enter in this window will NOT be included in that email.
6) Click Finish when you see the confirmation message pop up.
7) Confirm that your referred mentor is added to the Case Team list view.
How to Accept a Referral
Prerequisite: Active Mentor
When a mentoring request is referred to you, you will get an email notification regarding the referral. These are the next steps in order to ACCEPT the referral and add your own mentoring session.
1) Open your SCORE Email and locate the referral email notification. Click the Mentoring Request Link from the Email. Log in to Engage when prompted.
OR
If you're already logged in to Engage, scroll down and click the My Team Client Requests. And click View to open the Client Mentoring Request Details page.
2) In the Client Mentoring Request Details page, click the down arrow and select Accept/Decline Referral.
3) Select Accept Referral in this window and click Next. This ends the process.
4) Optional: Check that your name appears under the Case Team. The Assignments related list should also show you as having accepted the case with the current date. How to Decline a Referral
Prerequisite: Active Mentor
When a mentoring request is referred to you, you will get an email notification regarding the referral. These are the next steps in order to DECLINE the referral and be removed from the Team Case Member list for the mentoring request.
1) Open your SCORE Email and locate the referral email notification. Click the Mentoring Request Link from the Email. Log in to Engage when prompted.
OR
If you're already logged in to Engage, scroll down and click the My Team Client Requests. And click View to open the Client Mentoring Request Details page.
2) In the Client Mentoring Request Details page, click the down arrow and select Accept/Decline Referral.
4) Select Decline Referral and click Next.
5) Enter a reason for declining the mentoring request case and click Next. This is the end of the Decline Referral Process for you.
6) An email is sent to the Referring Mentor alerting them that the referral has been declined. In addition, when you decline as a Referred mentor, you will no longer be granted access to the Mentoring Request Case, and the next time you might click the link from your email, you will see an Invalid Page message.
Email Notification Sample

Referring mentor gets an email when the other mentor accepts the referral.
Referring mentor gets an email when the other mentor declines the referral.
Notes and Limitations
Case Owner - This will always show the lead mentor's name. As a Referred Mentor, you do not own the case. The lead mentor is still the case owner but you are added as a team member who has access to view the mentoring request case and add/view mentoring sessions.
Referred Mentor limitations - Limited only for Active Mentors. You cannot refer to Provisional Mentors or Subject Matter Experts.
Referred Mentor/Case Member - When you accept a referral, you become part of the mentoring case (as a case team member). As a case team member, you can also add another team member or refer the case to another mentor. When you decline a referral, you are removed from the list of case members and will no longer have access to the case.
